About Lisbon

Lisbon, says the legend, was founded by Ulisses.
In the 13th century, Lisbon became the capital of the country and since then has evolved through the ups and downs of the Portuguese history.
In the 16th century Lisbon became one of the most important capitals in Europe due to the spice trade.
The reconstruction of Lisbon after the earthquake of 1755 converted the city into the most modern capital of Europe at the time.
Nowadays Lisbon is a growing modern city but keeps its old traditional atmosphere.
